2 Injured By Chemical Explosion In St. Petersburg
The accident happened Tuesday afternoon in St. Petersburg, leaving two pool decking company employees with minor injuries.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Two people were injured during a Tuesday afternoon chemical explosion in St. Petersburg.
According to St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue, crews responded to an explosion at 6191 51st St. S. around 1:45 p.m.
“When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found that a pool decking company had mixed a resin and a hardener in a 55 gallon drum, in the rear of a box truck, creating an explosion,” the agency wrote in an email to media.

While no one in the neighborhood was injured, two employees were hurt, the agency reported. One employee was taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital for treatment. The other was treated on the scene, fire officials said.
