4th of July Celebrations: St. Pete Ranks Among the Best
The city came in 10th place in the country.

When it comes to the best places in America to celebrate the 4th of July, St. Petersburg ranks high on the list.
According to a new study released by WalletHub, the city is the 10th best in the country for providing residents with “the most bang for the buck” during the holiday, according to media release. Americans are projected to spend about $346.50 per household on July 4 celebrations the website noted. That’s why its researchers dove in to compare “the 100 largest U.S. cities based on how well they balance holiday cost and fun.”

To draw their conclusions, WalletHub’s staff looked at 14 different metrics, including the average price of a three-star hotel, fireworks laws, weather and duration of fireworks shows.
While St. Petersburg came in 10th place, the list was topped by such towns as Minneapolis, Seattle, St. Paul, Portland and San Francisco.

Other Florida cities ranked on the list included:
- Tampa, 24th place
- Miami, 26th
- Orlando, 39th
- Jacksonville, 72nd
North Las Vegas, Nevada, came in dead last.
