5000 Hugs Project Offers Invite to Trolley Experience

St. Petersburg, FL – The 5000 Hugs Project, an interactive art project, is offering the next 30 participants an invitation to come along on a fun-filled trolley tour on September 18th. The tour will begin and end in Grand Central District of St. Petersburg and make several stops for hugs and drinks.

Participants purchase a digital hug that artist Elsie Gilmore will turn into real life hug. The price of participation is low. Visitors to the website (www.5000hugs.com) are invited to buy a digital hug on the website for $10 (or have the option to make a dedication with the hug for $25). The history of each hug is logged on the website, from purchase to distribution.

Gilmore considers herself a hug evangelist and thinks hugging strangers can help the world heal from divisiveness and polarization. Her goal: more joy and more hugs.

While Gilmore is based in Florida, the project is open for anyone anywhere to buy the limited-edition digital hugs. The first phase of the project began on 8.15.2022 and wraps up on 2.14.2023 on Gilmore’s 50th birthday with a celebratory party.
