6-Year-Old Struck By SUV Should Be OK, Cops Say
The boy was accidentally hit by his teenage brother outside their St. Petersburg home.

A 6-year-old boy struck by a SUV outside his St. Petersburg home Monday night should make a full recovery.
That’s the latest from the St. Petersburg Police Department following the 6:30 p.m. accident on Union Street South. According to the agency, the boy was skateboarding in a seated position coasting down the road’s incline when his 16-year-old brother was backing up a 2004 Suzuki so other children had room to play basketball.
The little boy made a sharp turn into the driveway and struck the rear of the SUV as it was backing up, an email to media from the agency stated. The teen felt the impact and was able to stop the SUV before it ran over his brother’s upper body.
