87-Year-Old Woman Killed In Traffic Crash: St. Pete Police

Nearly two weeks after a two-vehicle crash on Dr. MLK Junior St., an 87-year-old woman died from her injuries, St. Petersburg police said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Nearly two weeks after a two-vehicle crash, an 87-year-old woman died from her injuries, St. Petersburg Police Department said in a news release.

Ann Lee Nell Baker was driving her SUV south on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street N. approaching 24th Avenue N. on April 4 just before 10 a.m.

When she made a left turn onto 24th Avenue N., she drove into the path of a car heading north on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street, police said.

After the two vehicles collided, Baker was brought by ambulance to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital for treatment. She died Tuesday from her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash on April 4 and cooperated with the investigation.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed.
