ST. PETERSBURG, FL — An 18-year-old man turned himself in to authorities after shooting his stepfather during an argument at a St. Petersburg home on Sunday morning, St. Petersburg police said in a news release.
Damaurie Mosley turned himself in Sunday evening and was charged with first-degree attempted murder, according to police.
Officers were called to a home in the 4300 block of Cherry Street Northeast around 4:20 a.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting.
An argument between Mosley and his 34-year-old stepfather preceded the shooting, police said. The stepfather suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital with serious injuries.
The victim was in stable condition Monday morning, police said.
Mosley left the scene after the shooting, prompting police to search for him.
