PINELLAS PARK, FL — Two popular chains, Shake Shack and Dutch Bros Coffee, are slated for the redevelopment of a parcel that is currently home to a Walgreens, reports said.
The chains, which would both operate drive-thrus, are slated for the redevelopment of two neighboring lots at 6994 U.S. Highway 19 N., the Tampa Bay Business Journal said.
Plans call for the Walgreens to be demolished to make way for the new businesses, reports said.
Documents filed with the city of Pinellas Park show that Shake Shack plans to operate a 3,493-square-foot restaurant, while Dutch Bros expects to open a 1,025-square-foot coffee shop on the land, St. Pete Rising said.
The property is across from The Shoppes at Park Place and next to the future site of an EōS Fitness Center.
While both businesses will have drive-thrus, Shake Shack will also have indoor seating, reports said.
This will be Shake Shack's first Pinellas County restaurant. The brand currently has two locations in Tampa, at International Plaza and Midtown Tampa, according to its website.
Dutch Bros, with an eye on the Tampa Bay area, has already been planning its expansion into Pinellas County. The company's first Pinellas location opened in Largo in November. The brand is also planning coffee shops in Seminole and in west St. Pete's Tyrone Gardens shopping center.
