Broomes To Return To Player Status

Kids and Kubs Board Vice President Will Michaels announced Tuesday, June 15. "It is with deep regret that we learned today of Ed Broome's resignation as President of Kids n Kubs for health reasons."

Ed played with the Kids for six years and has been one of our best long-ball over-the-fence hitters. But more importantly, he has always been a great team player, cheering others to do their best.

As a Board Member and then as President, he led by example, and it was he who did the heavy lifting to organize this past year's successful season despite the challenge of COVID. Ed plans to be back as a player for the upcoming season, and it will be a lucky team who drafts him."

In his first year, Ed Broomes opened the 21-22 season as President of The Three Quarter Century Club (aka Kids And Kubs). A member since 2016, he led the Club into Its 92nd Year. After a career of 31 years with the St Pete Beach Fire Department, Ed Waited 40 years to play with the Kids&Kubs. Ed, From Cherry Hill, NJ, lives in Seminole, Fl.

Ed compiled a .718 batting average in twelve games in 21-22, with a career mark over six seasons of .710.
