Business Leader Tapped in University Advisory Role

Judy Mitchell has been named to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg's campus board.

ST. PETERSBURG – The former president of Peter R. Brown Construction Inc. is a new campus board member at University of South Florida St. Petersburg.

The university announced Friday that Judy Mitchell was appointed to serve a four-year term on the campus board, which serves in an advisory role.

The other board members are Debbie Sembler, chair, Roy Binger, Bob Churuti and Susan Hough Henry.

Mitchell recently retired from running Brown Construction. In a written statement, Mitchell noted that "the university's impact and presence in the community continues to grow."

  • Ranked among Top 50 women business leaders in Florida by Florida International University;
  • Chair of the Morton Plant Mease Hospital;
  • Chair of the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce;

The next meeting of the USFSP Campus Board is Sept. 27 at 9 a.m. at USFSP.
