2 Women Seriously Injured When Car Crashes Into Bank

Two women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing into the BB&T bank building.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Two women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing into the BB&T bank building at 182 37th Ave. N., in St. Petersburg.

The accident happened just before 5 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17.

St. Petersburg Police say a 2006 Hyundai Azera, driven by Margaret Finger, 91, was traveling north through the Northeast Park Shopping Center when the car jumped the curb, entered the BB&T parking lot and jumped several more curbs before crashing into the southwest corner of the bank.

Police said they are investigating what caused the car to accelerate. Both Finger and her passenger, Kamla Ramsroop, 74, were taken to Bayfron Health St. Petersburg.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash. No one in the bank was injured.
