Car Strikes Mausoleum, Tombstones At St. Pete Cemetery
A mausoleum and three grave markers were damaged after a driver lost control in a St. Petersburg cemetery Sunday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A mausoleum and three grave markers were damaged after a driver lost control in a St. Petersburg cemetery Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 4:41 p.m. Dec. 29, Sandra Lynn Smith, 59, of St. Petersburg was driving north on the grass lot at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5750 49th St. N., when she struck a mausoleum on the property, damaging the building and the faces of three above-ground graves.
Smith was uninjured but her passenger, Betty Strickland, 63, of St. Petersburg, sustained critical injuries and was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

Smith was cited for careless driving.
