City Hall Stars, Kids and Kubs To Battle In Annual Classic Feb 12

St. Petersburg First-Term Mayor Ken Welch And First-Year Kids And Kubs President Ed Broomes Open A New Era In The Annual Classic Event

Three Quarter Century Softball Club will hold its annual Mayor's Softball game at the North Shore Park Softball Field, located at 901 North Shore Dr., St Petersburg, at the foot of 8th Avenue and Tampa Bay Saturday, Feb. 12, at noon.

Those in attendance are asked to bring Non-Perishable Foods to benefit the St Petersburg Free Clinic Food Bank. Suggestions for the best foods for donating include canned Fish and Meat, canned Pasta, Dry Soup Broth, and Gravy Baby Food Stuffing Instant Potatoes Rice Mac & Cheese Oatmeal & Grits.

A preliminary game scheduled at 9:00 AM Kids & Kubs vs. TASCO Teens will bring an exhaustive squad of younger men and women to oppose the Grandfathers of the game.

TASCO Center Based Teen Programs of St. Petersburg will serve refreshments from 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Since 1981 the Three-Quarter Century Club has made donations to local charities. At 10:30 AM, Club Secretary Ed Asay will present donation checks to Boys and Girls Club, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, Daystar Life Center, Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Sunshine Center, Police Athletic League, Neighborly Care Network, Suncoast Hospice, St Petersburg Free Clinic, Tunnels to Towers, TASCO Center Based Teen Programs, City of St. Petersburg.

At noon the Star-Spangled Banner and "O Canada" signals "Play Ball" as Honorable Mayor Ken Welch's City Hall Stars join Kids and Kubs President Ed Broomes "Renown" Three-Quarter Century Club All-Stars for the annual clash for the game's trophy.
