City Staff Given Paid Leave To Vote Nov. 3 In St. Pete

Mayor Rick Kriseman is giving city staff paid leave time for voting and volunteering in the 2020 presidential elections.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The city of St. Petersburg encourages its staff and residents to get out and vote or volunteer at the polls during early voting or on Election Day.

Mayor Rick Kriseman hopes to start a new tradition for city employees and announced that each member will receive two hours of paid leave they can use when they vote or volunteer at the polls in the general election.

"I am pleased to provide this opportunity to you and thank you for your continued hard work through challenging times," said Kriseman in an email to city staff. "While this is the first time such an opportunity has been afforded, my hope is that this is the beginning of a new tradition for the City of St. Petersburg. Please take advantage of it."
