City Worker Drove Garbage Truck Over Woman, Killing Her: St. Pete Police
A city employee was arrested after driving a garbage truck over a woman lying in an alley, killing her, St. Petersburg police said.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A St. Petersburg city worker operating a garbage truck was arrested after driving over and killing a woman lying across an alley on Saturday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded to the crash site in the alley near 3rd Street North, between 1st and Central avenues, around 6:30 p.m., St. Petersburg police said in a news release.
The victim, a 49-year-old woman, died at the scene. Her name will be released when the next of kin is found.

The truck’s driver, Nathan Brown, 51, didn’t stop after hitting the woman, police said.
Brown was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving death.
