Clearwater Man Drives To St. Pete For Sex With Girl: Police

St. Petersburg police arrested a 32-year-old man who thought he was driving to meet a 15-year-old girl he had been communicating with.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A Clearwater man was arrested by St. Petersburg police on multiple charges including enticing a child on Tuesday, a police news release said.

An undercover detective acted as if they were a 15-year-old girl as 32-year-old Sean Peter Brewer used his cell phone for communication to try to have sex with her, said authorities. Brewer drove to the 4100 block of 16th Street North to meet "the girl" after he repeatedly asked "her" for sex.

Officers waited for his arrival and arrested him after he arrived.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, Brewer faces the following charges:

  • Luring or enticing a child.
  • Traveling to meet a minor.
  • Unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
