Comedy Duo of Republican Baker & Congemi are Hilarious

Baker plays the straight man and Congemi plays the Republican "hate" translator who blurts out what the Republicans are actually thinking.

The comedy team of Republicans Rick Baker and Paul Congemi brought down the house on Tuesday July 18 at the League of Women Voters Mayoral debate with their hilarious new shtick. Their new routine went viral and propelled St Pete in to the national spotlight.

In the new bit, Baker plays the straight man and parrots the usual hollow republican talking points, and then Congemi plays the Republican “hate” translator who blurts out what the Republicans are actually thinking. The audience’s initial shock is typically followed by uproarious laughter.

Baker and Congemi are the insanely funny antitheses of the famous Key and Peele routine where Keegan-Michael Key played President Obama’s “anger translator”. At the debate on Tuesday Congemi translated the Republican position as: “Mr. Nevel, you and your people, talk about reparations. The reparations that you talk about, Mr. Nevel, your people already got your reparations. Your reparations came in the form of a man named Barack Obama.” Congemi finished with “My advice to you is if you don’t like it here in America, planes leave every hour from Tampa airport. Go back to Africa!”

Doesn’t that inane statement capture the essence of the current Republican administration? And just like our Republican Congress who give token finger wags to President Tourettes who is liable to blurt out anything at any given hour of the night, Congemi is St Pete’s own local “Trump” blurting out what the Republicans are really thinking as though he is channeling their racism and homophobia directly from the President.

Talk about whack-a-doo republicans crazies- don’t miss the next free comedy show of the hilarious comedy duo of Republican mayoral candidates Rick Baker and Paul Congemi.

(In case you could not tell, this is satire…(or was it?)
