CrossFit9 Moves to the Warehouse District

On July 10 CrossFit 9 moved from downtown St. Pete to the warehouse arts district.

The Warehouse Arts District in St. Petersburg continues to grow. Last week, the city announced that the popular gym, CrossFit9, moved to the district.

CrossFit9 is owned by Steven Ashton and his wife, Shireen Hameed. Shireen manages Anytime Fitness at 900 Central Ave. in the Edge Business District.

According to the city, CrossFit9 is Forging Elite Fitness in St. Petersburg and has been an official CrossFit affiliate since 2008. CrossFit9 originally opened in September 2008, operating at 9 MLK St. S. for three years.

They quickly grew out of that location and relocated and expanded in February this year to 2727 Sixth Ave. S. – an up and coming area known as the Warehouse Arts District.

At CrossFit9, there are no machines, mirrors or, as they like to say, egos. Instead, there are weights, bars, grit, determination and chalk.
