Dealing with Emotional Coping/Embrace the Void

After relationship loss/divorce the hurt is so painful we look for ways to fill the void which is left in our hearts, souls and minds. The wounds are exposed, and the lost feelings of loneliness, emptiness and fear of the unknown future is so painful we begin to find ways in which to mask the pain. Sometimes this triggers something much deeper, loneliness of childhood, lack of connection with family members, childhood trauma and hurt from past relationships begin to fill our minds. We start to hear that negative voice.

When we lose someone we love, someone of great importance in our lives we automatically want to distract from the feeling of pain, so we start to jump into life. We start dating, creating new relationships to fill the gaping hole, immersing ourselves in projects, nightlife etc., instead of taking the time to better understand the pain we are feeling.
