ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives have arrested two men they say lured a family to St. Petersburg to purchase a used cell phone and then robbed them at gunpoint.

According to detectives, Miguel Martinez-Ramirez, 23, and his wife, Maribel Martinez, 23, of Clearwater made arrangements to purchase a cell phone through Facebook Market Place in July.

On July 16, the couple, with their newborn baby, went to address given by the seller on Yellow Pine Street in St. Petersburg. While the couple sat in their car awaiting the arrival of the seller, a dark-colored car pulled up and two men got out with hoodies covering their faces and armed with guns.

During their investigation, detectives were able to identify two suspects. Jermaine Brown, 20, and Robert Walker, 18, both of St. Petersburg, after Brown turned himself in on an unrelated attempted murder charge on Sept. 4.

In an interview, Brown admitted to the robbery and gave up Walker. Detectives located Walker at Boca Ciega High School on Friday, Sept. 7 and he admitted to the robbery as well.
