Elderly Bicyclist Killed On U.S. 19

PINELLAS PARK, FL – A 79-year-old man was killed at about 8:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, as he walked his bicycle across the 8000 block of U.S. 19 North.

According to Pinellas Park Police, the man, whose name is being withheld until his family has been notified, ignored a red pedestrian crossing signal and began crossing from the east side to the west side of U.S. 19.

Ricky Graham, 50, of Clearwater was driving his 2003 Mitsubishi Galant north on U.S. 19, crossing the intersection on a green light, when he struck the bicyclist.

The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges are expected to be filed.
