The St. Petersburg sports bar, located at 1320 Central Ave. near Tropicana Field, will help the Clearwater-based national nonprofit raise funds for cutting-edge Brain Tumor research at the event, which features a raffle and silent auction, games of skill, and the televised Rays vs. New York Yankees game.

The Summer Bash for Charity, which starts at 4 p.m., also kicks-off the fundraising season for Miles For Hope’s fourth annual Moving Towards a Cure® cycle/run/walk event on Sept. 24 in Clearwater.

Proceeds from the raffles and the $5 cover charge benefit Miles For Hope, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for Brain Tumor research. Miles For Hope also raises awareness about the prevalence of Brain Tumors and assists patients enrolled in clinical trials with medical transportation costs.

Miles For Hope was founded by Robert and Barb Gibbs in 2008. Gibbs, a Brain Tumor survivor himself, attributes the availability of a cutting-edge clinical trial vaccine to his longevity. As an organization, Miles For Hope wants to ensure that even more people have access to the treatment that has helped save his life.
