Weedon Island Preserve

1800 Weedon Drive N.E., St. Petersburg
Journey back into Florida's past when the saber cat, giant sloth, mammoth, giant tortoise and bison roamed the Sunshine State. With a Sensing Nature® biologist, investigate animal fossils millions of years old and float back in time when mega-fauna ruled our coastal habitats. Afterwards, test your tortoise spurs with a fun, hands-on activity. Preregistration to this free activity is required. Online registration closes 24 hours before the program start time. Register by visiting www.pinellascountyextension.org, clicking the Registration button, then the Weedon Island tab. For more information about this activity, call (727) 453-6500 or for registration information, call (727) 582-2100.
