Florida State Parks Host First Day Hike Jan. 1
State parks in Florida have invited residents and visitors to take advantage of nature and hiking on First Day Hike to welcome 2022.
FLORIDA β Floridians can start 2022 off in a positive way surrounded by nature and getting exercise with a walk at one of our 175 state parks on First Day Hike, according to Florida authorities.
First Day Hike is organized in state parks across the country where many people participate in hikes every Jan. 1, Florida State Park website reported. "Varying from short strolls to longer treks, these hikes offer a variety of ways for people to get outdoors and start the new year on the right foot," park officials said.
Ranger-guided hikes are offered at some state parks. You don't have to follow a guide if you want to hike on your own First Day Hike alone or with just friends and family. Maps are available at ranger stations, and you can download one from each park's website.
