St. Pete Brewer's Funeral, Memorial Services To Take Place Wednesday
Ty Weaver, the head brewer at 3 Daughters Brewing, was killed in a motorcycle crash on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge last week.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Funeral services for Ty Weaver IV, the head brewer at 3 Daughters Brewing, will take place Wednesday afternoon in St. Petersburg.
The 50-year-old was killed March 2 in a motorcycle crash on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
The formal services start at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 212 3rd Street N. This will be followed by a less formal gathering at 3 Daughters Brewing, 222 22nd Street S., at 4 p.m.

The brewery asks those attending “to share our favorite memories and to raise a toast to Ty.”
To honor him, attendees are asked to wear something tie dye or from his favorite sports teams – the Dallas Cowboys, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Auburn University.

“The 3 Daughters Brewing family is overwhelmed by the tremendous amount of love and support from the community for the unexpected passing of our head brewer, Ty Weaver,” the company said in a statement following the fatal crash. “Ty was an exceptional person whose talent, dedication and love for the art of brewing were unmatched. He will be dearly missed by his friends, family and the 3 Daughters community.”
The Tampa Bay community and the brewing community in the area and beyond has rallied around 3 Daughters since Weaver’s death.
“Losing Ty is such a devastating and tremendous loss,” Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe wrote in a comment on the brewery’s Instagram page. “Sending love to his family, friends and work family.”
Right Around the Corner Arcade Brewery wrote in a Facebook comment, “Ty was such a great dude. Love to all and he will be missed.”
Meanwhile, the Florida Brewers Guild wrote in a Facebook post, “We lost one of our own last week. Please keep Ty's family and friends in your heart as we mourn his passing. We stand with our family at 3 Daughters in celebrating his life and his love for our industry.”
Born June 22, 1972, in Opelika, Alabama, Weaver attended Samford University in Birmingham and, later, culinary school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to a memorial page.
He moved to the Tampa Bay area in the summer of 2002, eventually taking a job as brewmaster for 3 Daughters Brewing.
Preceded in death by his father, Tyre Weaver III, he is survived by his wife Shannon; his children, Tyler, Mason and Michael; his siblings Lynn (Joel) Fallon, Bryan (Adrianne) Weaver and Katie (Daniel) Torrez; and his mother, Nan Weaver.
