Get Lost 'In The Clouds' At Mize Gallery Art Exhibit
Owner and artist Chad Mize is giving folks a breath of fresh, non-political air with November's art exhibit, "In The Clouds."

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg residents can escape reality and post-election anxiety at the Mize Gallery's November exhibit, "In The Clouds," that opens Friday.
"In The Clouds" provides a warm and fuzzy feeling in contrast to last month's exhibit at the gallery that focused on voting.
Owner and artist Chad Mize wanted to provide a comforting show since this year has been filled with unexpected change brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, and the latest nationwide disharmony among political parties.

"After the way this year has been for so many, I was thinking, 'head in the clouds', and I was kind of thinking, 'post-election', not knowing where we would really be at so it could kind of work both ways," Mize told a Patch reporter. "I just feel like it's kind of a comfort show. It's not political. When you give someone the concept of a cloud, it's probably going to be a pretty piece."
Thirty-seven-artists from around Florida and the nation had their submissions accepted for the display in the exhibit by Mize. It feels like you have left 2020 and all its drama as you immerse yourself in the pops of pink that many of the pieces have in common, and in the painted clouds.

Mize said this show has many more women artists than men, and nine artists he's never worked with before had their art accepted.
One of the artists new to the Mize Gallery is Liza Compass, a Plant City artist, who painted "Looking Back."
Compass' painting has a face in the clouds that resembles lucid dreaming.
"Our Lady of Divine Light," by artist Johannah O'Donnell of Sarasota features Madonna with pink, short-hair and blue eyes with clouds above.

The show opens on Friday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. via Mize Gallery Facebook Page Live.
At 7 p.m., Mize will do an Instagram Live of the show.
The exhibit is on display at the Mize Gallery, 689 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N, Suite C, until Nov. 21.
Gallery hours are Saturdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Only six guests are allowed inside at the same time, and masks are required.
