Get the Most From Patch This School Year

The day that parents have eagerly awaited is about to arrive: Monday is back-to-school day for public school students in Pinellas County.

Some private schools in St. Petersburg already started class this week, including Shorecrest Prepatory and the Knowlton and Hough campuses of Canterbury Prepatory of Florida.

At Patch, we plan to feature school events, profile students and teachers, and let everyone know key dates during the school year. But we need your help!

1. Let us know about big events and accomplishments — If you have a school-related story idea you’d like one of our professional journalists to cover, let us know about it! Just contact with the details.
2. Add your event listings — Have an upcoming band performance? Is your school hosting an open house? Just add the news to our Events calendar.
3. Post your announcements — Want to let us know about a student, school or teacher accomplishment? Let everyone hear the news by posting your own announcements and photos.
4. Add your photos to our galleries – Throughout the school year we’ll be out gathering lots of photos of students and their activities — starting with the very first day. Be sure to add your own photos to our event-related galleries and share your memories.
