Golf tournament raises over $85,000 for Loveland Village

Over $85,000 was recently raised during the 20th Annual Boca Royale Invitational Golf Tournament for the Loveland Village.

Over $85,000 was recently raised during the 20th Annual Boca Royale Invitational Golf Tournament for the Loveland Village, a nonprofit that provides educational, vocational and residential programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

To date, the tournament has raised over $1.3 million for the nonprofit throughout its 20-year history. Held on Jan. 21, 2017, the tournament attracted more than 110 golfers to Boca Royale Golf & Country Club’s 18-hole 72-par golf course.

"We are so grateful for the philanthropic commitment from the residents of Boca Royale Golf & Country Club and supporters of the Loveland Village,” said Daniela Koci, president and CEO of the Loveland Village. "Through this tournament's continued success, more than $1 million has been raised to benefit the Loveland Village’s programs and services to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities live their lives to the fullest.”

John and Ellen Nalepa, Boca Royale residents who have chaired the golf tournament every year since its inception, were recognized with a special award for their leadership and involvement with the Boca Royale Invitational.

Lakewood Ranch-based homebuilder Neal Communities was the presenting sponsor for the tournament, contributing an in-kind contribution of $10,000 for the use of its facility, including the golf course and golf carts at Boca Royale Golf & Country Club.
