Halfacre Construction Company enhances Punta Gorda Airport
Halfacre Construction Company is enhancing the operations at the Punta Gorda Airport by reconstructing two additional parking lots.

Halfacre Construction Company (HalfacreConstruction.com), the area’s oldest, most established, locally owned and operated private commercial construction company, is enhancing the operations at the Punta Gorda Airport by reconstructing two additional parking lots and adding new pay stations.
Construction began in May 2016 to rebuild the long-term and cell phone parking lots, adding roughly 500 spaces. The long-term and short-term parking exits will also be reconstructed to allow traffic to flow more freely by increasing the number of exit lanes from two to four.
Slated to wrap up in late fall 2016, current construction on the projects, totaling around $1,955,000, are taking place next to the existing long-term parking lot. This year and for the first time, the Punta Gorda Airport will hit the 1-million passenger mark.

“Punta Gorda is one of the fastest growing airports in the country,” said Gary Quill, executive director of the Charlotte County Airport Authority. “Due to its increasing popularity, we draw passengers from Marco Island to Sarasota. These updates will result in a much more efficient layout than we have ever had. The new exits will speed up the process of entering and exiting the airport parking lots. We saw these projects as a great value and a long-lasting benefit for the airport and its travelers.”
Located at 28000 A-1 Airport Road in Punta Gorda, Fla., the Charlotte County Airport Authority owns and operates the Punta Gorda Airport. In the past 12 months, a total of 972,316 passengers have used the airport.
