Hand Lettering Art Exhibition On Display At St. Pete Brewery
A group art exhibition of hand lettering featuring work by Tasko, Sydney Prusso, Leo Gomez and Sun Signs is on display at Bayboro Brewing.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL β Sunshine City has become known as a city of artists over the past decade, down to the signs and banners that hang outside St. Petersburg businesses.
Now, works by some of the areaβs most prominent hand lettering artists β Tasko, Sydney Prusso, Leo Gomez and Sun Signs β is on display at Bayboro Brewing, 2390 5th Ave. S., through the end of May.
The exhibit was curated by No Good Deeds, owned and operated by Jenee Priebe. Known for her work running the Shine Mural Festival, about a year ago she moved into curating smaller spaces, including Bayboro Brewing and the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay office downtown.

Sheβs excited to bring the hand lettering showcase, which grew out of her personal love for style of art and typography, to the brewery.
βIβm just a big fan of typography and lettering myself,β Priebe told Patch. βWhen I first started considering curating the taproom at Bayboro, typography was my first on a list of possible shows. β¦ Itβs taken a year to get here, but it was worth the wait.β

Sheβs met the artist featured in this showcase through their various projects in the region, including their participation in Shine. Each brings their own unique style to hand lettering.
βYou have artists like Leo Gomez and Sun Signs, theyβve done so much lettering work throughout town,β she said. βMaybe just a logo or a menu or any kind of type you see on a sign outside a business is probably done by one of those two.β
Prusso, who is based in Dunedin, βdoes more graphic design type work and murals,β Priebe said. βHer lettering is really fun and funky, kind of like a β70s vibe.β
Meanwhile, Tasko is a graffiti-style writer, she said. βItβs insane. Itβs so cool to be able to show his work in that space. Heβs insanely talented.β
The exhibit, which went up in early April, will remain on display for two months. All works featured in the show are available to purchase.
