Hey, Kids, Get Your Math Geek on for MegaBowl 2011

Pinellas County students will compete in a math competition showing their skills at solving calculations in Algebra and Geometry.

Middle and high schoolers get to compete Monday in the second anual Megabowl, a math competition that quizzes kids in algebra and geometry.

The DimensionU Multiplayer Educational Games (MEG) Math Tournament is Monday, May 2, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the conference hall at the administration building in Largo.

“This is an opportunity for teams of middle and high school math students to compete on FCAT 2.0, Algebra and Geometry EOC concepts through a gaming format. Many of these students are enrolled in our Intensive Math intervention course to prepare for success in these exams. The students have phenomenal stories of success over adversity and are excited about demonstrating their mathematical knowledge through this highly engaging electronic format,” says Rose Mack, secondary mathematics supervisor.
