St. Petersburg High School art teacher Jenny Trewin and her students have created a visual history of St. Pete over the past century beginning with the arrival of the Orange Belt Railroad and the Tony Jannus flight of the Benoist to the Sunshine Skyway and St. Pete Pier project.

Historic landmarks depicted in the mural include the Open-Air Post Office, Mirror Lake Library, Soreno Hotel, Snell Building and the Million-Dollar Pier.

The artwork stretches along the north side of the St. Petersburg Museum of History, 335 2nd Ave. N.E., on the Pier Approach.

A number of the student artists will be on hand for the unveiling to show off their work and answer questions.

"The incredible mural created by these very talented students is a gem for the Museum of History, and the city's art scene," said Rui Farias, museum executive director. "They have created another example of how important this city's history is to its art culture and future."

The students’ interpretation of St. Pete’s history is the latest addition to the St. Pete Mural Tour, which includes more than 30 murals on the walls of buildings in a six-block area of St. Pete’s Central Arts District.
