Hofbrauhaus St. Petersburg Opens its Doors
The new eatery brings the flavors of Germany home to St. Petersburg.

Tampa Bay area residents eager to savor authentic German foods and beers don’t have to wait any longer. Hofbrauhaus St. Petersburg opened its doors at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Billing itself as the “first and only German beer hall, restaurant and beer garden to call St. Petersburg home,” the eatery is a replica of Munich, Germany’s Hofbrauhaus.
“We take great pride in giving you an experience as authentic and unforgettable as the 400-year-old original,” the establishment’s website states.

Christian Schrangl, general manager, says guests will find the restaurant is the most fun place in town. “And, it’s the most authentic” right down to the beer.
As for that beer, the menu shows a variety of Bavarian brews that are imported directly from a brewery in Munich.

“A brew master in Germany oversees the brewing of our three all year round beer varieties, plus our seasonal specialties like Oktoberfest, Maibock and Hefe Weizen Dunkel,” the website explains.
“The quality of the beer, the history of the beer and the temperature is just spot on,” Schrangl says.
As for the food, diners will find an array of German favorites. From fresh-baked pretzels to schnitzel and wurst, the menu covers it all. Plus, for those with a more Americanized taste, there’s salad, burgers and other fare to be found.
Located at 123 4th St. S. in St. Petersburg, Hofbrauhaus also offers live entertainment daily.
