Indira Lakshmanan Kicks Off Willis Leadership Lecture

Indira Lakshmanan, Washington columnist for The Boston Globe and the Poynter Institute's Newmark Chair for Journalism Ethics, kicks off the 2017-18 Willis Leadership Lecture at Shorecrest Preparatory School. She addresses the 9th-12th grade Shorecrest Upper School Monday, October 23 in her talk, "Real vs. Fake News." The event begins at 11:45am in the Janet Root Theatre at Shorecrest.

Indira Lakshmanan has been a national and foreign correspondent and columnist for newspapers, a wire service, radio, TV and magazines, reporting from more than 80 countries, traveling with presidents, secretaries of State and presidential candidates. In her role as the Newmark chair in journalism ethics at the Poynter Institute, Lakshmanan is a voice in the national conversation about the role of journalism in our democracy.

The Willis Leadership Lecture will bring two additional speakers to the Shorecrest campus this academic year:
