Jane Goodall to Headline Environmental Action Weekend in Tampa Bay
Multiple Events Take Place September 14-15

St. Petersburg, Fla. — Tampa Bay is set to host a remarkable weekend dedicated to environmental action, headlined by the iconic Dr. Jane Goodall. The world-renowned ethologist, activist, and UN Messenger of Peace will make a special appearance as part of a series of events taking place on September 14-15, 2024. The weekend is organized by the Jane Goodall Institute’s Roots & Shoots program in collaboration with various local environmental organizations.
Dr. Goodall will kick off the weekend on the evening of September 14 with a keynote speech at Tropicana Field. The event, titled An Evening with Dr. Jane Goodall, will begin at 7 P.M. and is open to the public. Attendees can look forward to an inspiring talk where Dr. Goodall will share her message of hope and her vision for a more sustainable future. The talk is specifically tailored for the Youth Environment Summit, a gathering of young conservationists that will take place earlier in the day at the same venue.
Tickets for the evening event are available here on Eventbrite, with prices ranging from $10 to $20. The Youth Environment Summit, also at Tropicana Field, will bring together aspiring conservationists from grade 4 through college for a day of learning and collaboration. The summit will feature guest speakers, age-specific workshops, and an expo with booths from local environmental organizations. Topics of discussion will be centered around three key areas: our water, our shorelines, and our cities.
