Kids Open First Bank Accounts at SunTrust
SunTrust will welcome the young people and assist them as they deposit their first stipends as part of the Job Club component of the nationally recognized Carrera Program.

ST. PETERSBURG – On Oct. 7, from 5-6:30pm, 60 participants from the Carrera Summer and Afterschool Program will open their first bank accounts at the SunTrust Bank, at 31st St and Central Avenue.
SunTrust will welcome the young people and assist them as they deposit their
first stipends as part of the Job Club component of the nationally recognized
Carrera Program.
The evidence-based Carrera Program is one of only 15 funded through the Office
of Adolescent Health (OAH) and the only one of its kind in the state of
Florida.
This joint endeavor through the Pinellas County Health Department and
the Juvenile Welfare Board follows 60 youth, ages 11 and 12, from the time
they enter the 6th grade at John Hopkins Middle School through high school.
The Carrera Summer and After School Program provides a holistic approach and
very special programming for the youth, including: Education, Employment/Job
Club Activities, Family Life and Sexuality Education (FLSE), Mental Health
Services, Medical, Dental and Vision Care, Lifetime Individual Sports, and
Self-Expression.
