Know an Awesome Teen? Youth Showcase Awards Taking Nominations
City officials have extended the deadline and waived the application fee for teens to be nominated for Mayor Bill Foster's first Youth Showcase Achievement Awards.

The deadline for Pinellas County teens to play a role in Mayor Bill Foster's first annual Maor's Youth Showcase of Achievement Awards has been extended for one week to Wednesday, April 27.
Also, there is now no application fee, which is being waived to encourage entries.
The Youth Showcase Awards, sponsored in part by the city of St. Petersburg's TASCO Teen Programs, will recognize Pinellas County middle and high school teens in 10 categories and award top winners with $500 savings bonds.Â
Nomination forms are now available at www.stpete.org/teenawards, at any city Recreation Center, library branch, or by calling 727-892-5060.

Nominations are due April 27, and must include the easy application form, a short written nomination (up to 1,000 words), and any supporting documentation.
There is no application fee. Pinellas County middle and high school students, (public, private or home schools) are eligible. Completed applications may be emailed to Tasco@stpete.org.
A panel of judges will evaluate the applications, and a $500 floridacentral Credit Union savings account will be awarded to a middle school student and a high school student who demonstrate personal growth and community service in each of 10 achievement categories - academics, scholar athletes, citizenship/leadership, fine arts, literary arts, performing arts, media arts, science/technology, vocational/business enterprise and overcoming adversity.
The awards will be presented at the first Mayor's Youth Showcase of Achievement on May 17 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Progress Energy Center for the Arts' Mahaffey Theater. The awards program is presented by the city's TASCO Teen Programs and Students Working Against Tobacco, with the generous sponsorship of the floridacentral Credit Union.
Anyone needing assistance to complete the nomination process is invited to use the TASCO Center for Teen Technology through April 27, offering printing, photography, video or other assistance. Please coordinate this in advance by calling 727-892-5877.
