Lakewood Ranch Chargers U11 girls finish first in league

​The Lakewood Ranch Chargers U11 Girls Competitive Soccer team ends the season tied for first place in the 2016-17 Club Director's League.

The Lakewood Ranch Chargers U11 Girls Competitive Soccer team, based out of the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, ends the season tied for first place in the 2016-17 Club Director’s League (CDL) and ranked No. 8 in Florida by Got Soccer.

The girls’ team, coached by David Quintero, ended its season with 27 wins, four draws and nine losses, with 110 goals scored and 30 goals against.

“This is the first year this group of girls has played together, and I am extremely proud of their great accomplishments,” said Chargers coach David Quintero. “For their age, they demonstrate maturity and athleticism that I am confident will grow each year they play together, and I congratulate the players and the families who support them on a wonderful first season together!”

The team earned finalist medals in four tournaments, including the Largo Halloween Tournament, the Soccer Skills Thanksgiving Tournament, the Disney President’s Day Soccer Showcase and the Sarasota Cup. They were also semi-finalists in The Commissioner’s Cup, out of 32 teams.

The Chargers Soccer Club at Lakewood Ranch provides soccer opportunities to players throughout the Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota and Bradenton area. The Chargers Soccer Club at Lakewood Ranch calls the Premier Sports Campus home and is an extension off the other Chargers SC communities that are located in Clearwater and Tampa. It is one club comprised of three communities in Pinellas, Manatee and Hillsborough Counties that primarily draws players from six contiguous Bay Area counties, including Pasco, Sarasota, Manatee and Polk Counties. The Chargers Soccer Club has approximately 90 competitive teams, USSF Development Academy Program, three recreational programs, TOPS Soccer and an adult recreational league, totaling about 3,000 players that utilize 50 soccer fields. The Chargers Club boasts a soccer director on staff, with an unprecedented level of experience for the Tampa Bay region and some of the best programs in Florida.
