Man Accused Of Sexual Assault In St. Pete Arrested in PA: Police
St. Petersburg detectives believe a man accused of sexual assault may have more victims in the St. Pete area who have not come forward.
ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A man who is accused by police of sexual assault and kidnapping in St. Petersburg was taken into custody in Pennsylvania on Sept. 24, said authorities.
Investigators with the St. Petersburg Police Department said the suspect, Anthony Powell, sexually assaulted a victim he met at a local bar after he bound and beat her at a house in the Tyrone area.
Detectives said Sowell called a ride-sharing service for the victim after the attack.

Authorities did not release the date of when the incident occurred.
Sowell is awaiting extradition to Pinellas County, said deputies.

Investigators believe Sowell may have hurt other victims and encourage anyone who had a violent interaction with him to contact Detective Christian at 727-893-4986 with report number 2020-028887.
