Man With Medical Issue Rescued By Coast Guard In Hernando Beach
Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater sent a MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter to rescue a man who experienced severe abdominal pain on his boat.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL —The Coast Guard rescued a man with severe abdominal pain from a fishing boat in the Hernando Beach area late Wednesday night. (Video provided by the Coast Guard of the rescue is located at the bottom of this article.)
Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg received an emergency call from a VHF marine radio at 10:44 p.m. about a 49-year-old man who could no longer operate his boat because of a medical issue, said a news release. Another boater in the area saw that the man needed help, and towed his boat to a nearby marina as Air Station Clearwater deployed a helicopter crew on a MH-60 Jayhawk to his location.
A nearby station, Coast Guard Station Yankeetown also provided assistance.

A Coast Guard rescue crew hoisted the man up in a helicopter emergency rescue basket and medevaced him to Tampa General Hospital in stable condition.
