Man Sentenced To Prison For Armed Robbery, Store Shooting
A St. Petersburg man was sentenced to prison after shooting a manager at a store during a 2019 robbery, prosecutors said.
TAMPA, FL — A 30-year-old St. Petersburg man was sentenced to 24 years in federal prison on Wednesday for carrying and discharging a firearm during several robberies, the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida said.
Terrian J. Knight committed four armed robberies in the St. Petersburg area from Jan. 14, 2019, to July 26, 2019, according to court documents.
On July 30, 2019, Knight attempted to rob the assistant manager of a St. Petersburg Family Dollar store as the worker was leaving, the state attorney's office said.

Knight shot the manager as he laid on the ground injured, authorities said.
According to the state attorney's office, Knight left the scene and hid in a retention pond for seven hours before law enforcement officials took him into custody.

Knight had pleaded guilty on June 10, 2020, according to court documents.
The court also ordered Knight to forfeit the firearm used in the offense.
