Man Shot During Road Rage Incident On Howard Frankland Bridge
The mother of the man who was shot has set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for his medical expenses.
TAMPA, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is seeking information on a road rage shooting along the Howard Frankland Bridge Monday.
Just after 9 p.m., troopers responded to a shooting along the southbound lanes of Interstate 275 on the Howard Frankland Bridge.
The victim, Tyeson Jordan, 22, of Tampa, drove himself to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg's emergency room and was later transferred to the trauma center at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was met by troopers.

Troopers said Jordan was driving a 2016 Dodge Charger south on Interstate 275 in Tampa, approaching the Howard Frankland Bridge when he approached a slower, dark-colored SUV in the left lane. He flashed his lights and sounded his horn. He then began to pass the slower SUV on the right and merged back into the left lane in front of the SUV.
Jordan “brake checked” the SUV, indicating his irritation with the driver, before pulling away, but the SUV began to shadow Jordan. Jordan attempted to put distance between his Dodge Charger and the SUV, however, the SUV made several lane changes while crossing the bridge to keep up with Jordan.

While continuing south in the center lane of the bridge, Jordan's passenger, Jacqueline Slaughter, heard a “popping” noise and suddenly felt glass strike her before noticing that Jordan had a gunshot wound to his face.
While continuing to drive, Jordan told Slaughter to photograph or record the SUV with her cell phone, but she was unable to comply because the lock screen was covered in blood.
Following the shooting, the SUV continued south as Slaughter helped Jordan remain calm. She guided him to an interstate exit, and they made their way to the emergency room.
Jordan is in stable condition following surgery. He's had to have his jaw wired and has a long road to recovery, according to his mother, Akesha Ingraham.
She's started a GoFundMe campaign to help her son with his medical expenses.
She described her son as a father of two who works hard to support his children.
"This was an unexpected situation, and we thank God he was able to survive this horrible tragedy," Ingraham said. "We are asking for prayers and donations to help with any medical expenses including therapy sessions, recovery and financial support for his kids during his journey of recovery."
She's also asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to come forward.
"Please help find who did this terrible act of violence, so we can have justice be served," she said.
The highway patrol is asking for witnesses to the shooting to call *FHP or Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
