MI Bicyclist Killed In Crash With Truck At Siesta Beach Access: FL Troopers
A bicyclist died after being hit by a truck turning into a Siesta Beach access, Florida troopers said.
SARASOTA, FL — A 65-year-old bicyclist from Michigan died Sunday after being hit by a pick-up truck near Siesta Beach, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
He was riding a bicycle in the designated bike lane of Beach Road around 1:30 p.m.,
While making a right turn at beach access No. 9, east of Plaza de las Palmas, the truck hit the bicyclist, troopers said.

The bicyclist was brought by ambulance to an area hospital with critical injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The truck’s driver, a 36-year-old Sarasota man, was uninjured in the crash.
