Mocha Vida Café Celebrates Grand Opening Today

Owner Jeff Sprinkmann describes his new St. Pete shop as "an Irie/Jamaican, Costa Rican, rainforest, surf cafe with a heavy dose of art, music, environmental conservation and Caribbean culture."

 ST. PETERSBURG – A new coffee, tea and all-natural juice shop celebrates its grand opening today.

Mocha Vida Cafe, in the Gateway Crossing Plaza, will have its official ribbon cutting on Tuesday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. City Council members will be present for the celebration, along with shop owner Jeff Sprinkmann.

Mocha Vida's specialties include Mocha Vida Iced Coffee, Mocha Vidaccino and Mango/Acai Berry Juice. The shop also has loose teas, chocolates and fudge. Free WIFI is available.

Mocha Vida Café is open Monday to Saturday 7:30 am to 7 p.m. Live music by local musicians is featured on Thursdays, 7 to 10 p.m. It is located in the Gateway Crossing Shopping Plaza, at 10468 Roosevelt Blvd.

Originally from Milwaukee, owner Jeff Sprinkmann graduated from Eckerd College and operated an environmental consulting company, Galahad Enterprises. The company is also a city of St. Petersburg certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE).

He expanded his entrepreneurial skills and created the Mocha Vida Café - a fusion of diverse themes reflecting a colorful blend of his travels. He loosely describes it as an Irie/Jamaican, Costa Rican, rainforest, surf cafe with a heavy dose of art, music, environmental conservation and Caribbean culture.
