Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash

Police say he was going just over 100 mph.

A 32-year-old man is in serious condition following a Monday night motorcycle crash on 1st Avenue South and 42nd Street.

St. Petersburg Police say Michael Adalberto Villafane was heading eastbound in the center lane of 1st Avenue South around 7:30 p.m. at an “extreme rate of speed” as Reginald Presley, 31, was headed north on 42nd Street. Presley pulled into the intersection from a stop sign, into Villafane’s path. Villafane’s 2006 Kawasaki struck the front left of Presley’s Sierra, throwing him over the truck’s hood.

Villafane was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
