• Express Bus Service Between Downtown St. Pete, Tampa Airport Launches (patch.com) — Residents and visitors in downtown St. Petersburg now have a direct, low-cost bus connection to Tampa International Airport via PSTA's new 727 Airport Express. The hybrid buses run daily from early morning to late evening, stopping at nine downtown locations including the St. Pete Pier and using the Howard Frankland Bridge express lanes to improve regional mobility.

• Pinellas revamps plans for Tarpon Springs schools after parents protest (tampabay.com) — Pinellas schools' consolidation plan now spares Tarpon Springs families from leaving their city for middle school, but Sexton Elementary and several other under-enrolled campuses in St. Petersburg remain on the closure list. The superintendent may float alternatives like closing Woodlawn or Lynch instead, with a final School Board vote set for Oct. 13 after more community meetings.
