Norwegian, Asian Fusion Restaurant Lingr Closing In St. Petersburg

After nearly three years, Chef Jeffrey Jew is closing his Nordic, Asian eatery, Lingr, in St. Petersburg to focus on his mother's health.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The Nordic- and Asian-inspired restaurant Lingr at 400 6th Street S. is closing its doors for good, according to a Facebook post.

In the post announcing the closure of the restaurant, Lingr staff said that Chef Jeffrey Jew “has decided to prioritize family as they navigate the challenges of his mother's Lewy body dementia.”

The restaurant’s final day of service will be Saturday.

"After almost 3 years of serving our community, it's time for me to follow the advice I've always given my team — put family and health first,” said Chef Jeffrey Jew, who appeared on Bravo’s “Top Chef” and won the Food Network’s “Guy’s Grocery Games.”

He asks those who have enjoyed “Lingr’s unique blend of culinary traditions” to donate to the Alzheimer's Association at https://act.alz.org.

“Thank you to everyone — our amazing staff and fabulous customers who have made this journey possible,” Jew said. “While we prepare to say goodbye to our space on 6th Street South, we look forward to keeping the spirit of Lingr alive through our continued connection with all of you in the community.”
