Palmetto Man Killed Trying To Pass Pinellas Bus

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL — A 37-year-old Palmetto man has died following an accident on the northbound Interstate 275 exit ramp at Roosevelt Boulevard Thursday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 8:47 p.m., George Patrick Dunne was driving a Ford Ranger north on the exit ramp when he attempted to pass a Pinellas County Transit bus and lost control.

Dunne collided with a guardrail and was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest along the ramp to 118th Avenue North.

He died at the scene.
