Gas Leak Fire Shuts Down Lanes Of Traffic As Officials Responded

ST. PETERSBURG, FL —A fire that caused emergency crews to shut down all lanes of Park Street near Ninth Avenue North on Monday, turned out to be a gas leak fire, St. Pete Fire Rescue said.

Around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, fire crews responded to an underground gas line that leaked gas in the area of Park Street and Bogie Avenue North, officials said.

The fire was started by a power line that fell and arced near the leak, investigators said.

There were no injuries from the fire or the gas leak, authorities said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL —All northbound and southbound lanes of Park Street are shut down in between 9th Avenue North and 22nd Avenue North due to a fire, St. Pete police tweeted.

St. Pete Fire Rescue has responded to the fire in the area, and officials ask that drivers find an alternate route as fire rescue works to get the fire under control.
