The new U.S. News & World Report list highlights how the St. Petersburg facility, along with other Florida children's hospitals, stacks up nationally in areas like cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, and urology, helping parents find high-level care.
   

2. Cade Allen home restoration complete; The Cade rises behind it (stpetecatalyst.com) — A restored 90-year-old Cade Allen home on Mirror Lake Drive is back on the market as a single-family residence for $3.5 million, while a new 15-unit condo project called The Cade rises behind it in downtown St. Petersburg. The development preserves historic materials, including granite from the original garage, and is already halfway through construction with several units sold.
   

3. St. Pete eyes rain gardens, reefs for flood protection (stpetecatalyst.com) — St. Petersburg officials are weighing rain gardens, oyster reefs and other green infrastructure as standard tools to reduce flooding and erosion alongside traditional pipes and pumps. From Maximo Park to neighborhood road projects, the city is testing designs that capture runoff, protect shorelines and add trees, while council members push to make these nature-based options part of every major infrastructure plan.
   

4. Council to explore autonomous food delivery services (stpetecatalyst.com) — St. Petersburg's City Council has agreed to explore allowing autonomous sidewalk delivery robots, a move supporters say could ease parking woes, cut emissions and help small restaurants reach more customers. The idea now heads to council committees, where transportation and legal staff will weigh benefits, safety concerns and potential regulations before any robots roll through local neighborhoods.
   

5. New bar Apt 34 plans to bring house party vibes to downtown St. Petersburg (tampabay.com) — A new bar called Apt 34 is set to open on First Avenue North, aiming to bring laid-back house party energy to downtown St. Petersburg by early 2027, possibly as soon as November. Owned by St. Pete native Nico Leeper, the spot will emphasize fun, approachable wine and craft-leaning beers, with plans for Venetian-style bar snacks and collaborations with local breweries.
