Pedestrian Killed By Car On Seminole Boulevard
The driver took evasive action but was unable to avoid striking the pedestrian.

SEMINOLE, FL—Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian.
According to accident investigators, on Wednesday, Dec. 13 around 8:45 p.m., Dwight Wood, 68, of 1827 Crooked Oak Lane, Lutz, was driving his 2000 Toyota 4-Runner southbound on Seminole Boulevard approaching 53rd Ave. N.
Kala Gombos, 23, of 1516 Seagull Drive, Palm Harbor, stepped in front of Wood’s car. Wood took evasive action but was unable to avoid striking her.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Gombos to St. Petersburg General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators say Gombos was not using a designated pedestrian crosswalk. Wood was neither speeding nor impaired.
